Ballarat, Bendigo & Daylesford wedding marquee & furniture hire

June 22, 2018

Over the last few weeks we have spent a significant amount of time in Ballarat, Bendigo and Daylesford.  As we both are based on the fringe of the region, we decided to try some new places and check out the best wedding and food venues in this culturally plentiful region. Next season we venture to this area to take part in some really exciting events, with our first wedding in the stunning Sault restaurant in Daylesford.

So in the spirit of our fun filled adventures  we have decided to enticed you into planning a marquee wedding in the Ballarat, Daylesford and Bendigo region. The first reason why we recommend organising a marquee wedding in this region is the SCENERY. We spent the Queens birthday weekend in June travelling the Bendigo wine region checking out amazing venues and locations to plan a wedding in the region and lets be honest drinking a lot of wine. One fantastic venue that really caught out eye was Balgownie Estate Winery, these guys to glamping on site so after partying all night you can head to bed in your cosy tents overlooking some stunning scenery. The other great aspect to this venue is the food, there is an amazing array of gourmet options on offer in this venue. Your guests will never go hungry.

The second reason sort of links with the first a wee bit, the WINE Daylesford, Ballarat and in particular Bendigo are renowned for their stunning shiraz and other varieties. And if anyone knows me I do love a drop of vino! One little gem we found was Mitchell Harris wines in the stunning city of Ballarat. This amazing venue does weddings in house and is steeped in character. The service, the wine selection and the décor is a foodies dream. This venue requires little décor as the building is work of art on its own. The food has a surprising Asian twist which is really quirky and made our pallets smile.

Our third reason is the really quaint buildings and historic features of the Ballarat, Daylesford and  Bendigo regions. Unlike many locations in Victoria, the Goldfield region has a rich history. These buildings not only make fantastic photo opportunities to capture your wedding day but often hold wonderful shops, cafes and restaurants inside them. For a wedding ceremony there are endless opportunities including botanical gardens, parks with lake views and historic town halls. Elderberry loves setting up ceremonies in amazing venues and locations and can look after your ceremony needs with our range of furniture hire.

Whether you choose to have your wedding in a stunning historic building, a winery or woodland property, we really recommend having a second look at the Ballarat, Bendigo and Daylesford regions. If you bring your family and friends to this region for a destination wedding there is a huge amount of areas to explore and activities to take part in.
